Heat rash is a common affliction during the warm months. Also known as prickly heat or miliaria rubra, this condition arises when sweat glands become blocked, causing sweat to be trapped beneath the skin when you perspire. This results in the characteristic rashes of tiny, blister-like bumps surrounded by red, irritated skin. Most commonly found on the chest, back, face, neck and thighs, these lesions are very itchy, and are often accompanied by an intense prickly or stinging sensation. Continue reading »
